Deconstructed Caprese Salad

This is our take on a Caprese Salad, a delicious combination of tomato, basil and mozzarella that was “discovered” in Italy in the 1950s (the history of Caprese salad). Combining all of these fresh ingredients with a little oil and Pete's Spice makes for an amazing side dish to serve at your next gathering.

Serves 4-5

Here is what you'll need:

  • Tomatoes (5-6)
  • 1 Container Fresh Mozzarella Pearls
  • Sourdough Bread (1/2 loaf)
  • Basil (4-5 leaves)
  • Prosciutto (1 container)
  • 1-2 TB Olive Oil
  • Pete's Spice

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
  • Cut or tear up your sourdough into small pieces. Drizzle with olive oil and place on a baking sheet and throw in the oven for 7-8 minutes to make fresh croutons
  • Cut up tomatoes and basil
  • Add tomatoes, basil, mozzarella pearls and prosciutto to a large bowl
  • Add Pete's Spice and Olive oil
  • Combine and top with fresh baked croutons

Enjoy!!!
